aving worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Sri Lanka, Sudhir Bhatnagar was deeply moved by the sufferings of the population caught in the middle of the country's worst-ever civil unrest. Coming from India, he was aware of the critical and widespread suffering of the population from multi-dimensional, poverty, social and economic disempowerment. Having been a part of many reliefs and rehabilitation work in India, it was clear where Sudhir's inclination was, and thus Society for All Round Development (SARD) was born in 1996 out of his frontline experience working with grassroots communities.
For his incredible work toward humanity, Sudhir has been recognized by several institutions across the world. Some of them are - the Award on Promoting Education and Disaster Risk Reduction in schools by the Republic of South Korea; Award on Development of Teaching Learning Material Bank by Mashav, Government of Israel; Diwan Chand Mehta award for NGO leadership in Maharashtra for the convergence model of Integrated community Development with Government and Reliance Power and much more.
